Urban Myth definition: a story or statement that is not true but is often repeated, and believed by many to be true.

This is growing into such a big deal that it needs its own thread. It's become clear that the Establishment is going all-in with this angle, using it to make the Trump presidency (and all the votes) illegitimate.

After the Washington Post opened up with their first big salvo regarding the 'secret CIA assessment', the NY Times published a massive 25 page, 8000 word article today on Dec 13.

The Perfect Weapon: How Russian Cyberpower Invaded the U.S.
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/13/us/po ... .html?_r=1

Meanwhile the top intelligence agency, the ODNI, along with the FBI have both rejected the Russia Hack 'theory' for lack of evidence.

Last of all, 40 Electors have now decided they want to hear everything about the so-called Russia Hack before casting their votes:

You will notice that a certain elector, Nancy Pelosi's daughter, is leading the charge. Here's the 40:

Christine Pelosi (CA)
Micheal Baca (CO)
Anita Bonds (DC)
Courtney Watson (MD)
Dudley Dudley (NH)

This just in from the Extreme Sour Grapes department....

U.S. Officials: Putin Personally Involved in U.S. Election Hack
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/u-s ... ck-n696146
Bold emphasis mine

Now the U.S has solid information tying Putin to the operation, the intelligence officials say. Their use of the term "high confidence" implies that the intelligence is nearly incontrovertible.

"It is most certainly consistent with the Putin that I have watched and used to work with when I was an ambassador and in the government," said Michael McFaul, who was ambassador to Russia from 2012 to 2014.

"He has had a vendetta against Hillary Clinton, that has been known for a long time because of what she said about his elections back in the parliamentary elections of 2011. He wants to discredit American democracy and make us weaker in terms of leading the liberal democratic order. And most certainly he likes President-elect Trump's views on Russia," McFaul added. Clinton cast doubt on the integrity of Russia's elections.

As part of contingency planning for potential retaliation against Russia, according to officials, U.S. intelligence agencies have stepped up their probing into his personal financial empire.

This is so weird. Don't they respect that any reasonable person would actually like to see some proof? Of course, they're advertising to the brainwashed pro-Hillary choir. Also, let's imagine that Russia completed hacked all of the Hillary, Podesta, and Soros related emails. Let's just pretend they did that and gave it to their hypothetical Kremlin-puppet, Wikileaks. Should we not actually judge the content of the emails for ourselves and determine for ourselves if these targeted people are shady or not?

Again, apparently that's a no-no. It's all about who leaked the emails. Not what the emails are about.

Who's yur daddy? Who's yer daddy? Our vendetta overlord who controls the American elections!

More urban myths about Russia election hacks

Germany's 2017 election is in danger. The Russians will hack it!
http://in.mobile.reuters.com/article/idINKBN13X16C

Yeah, because when Russia Today -- an entity doing the will of the Kremlin -- has enormous success in merely telling the truth about certain hot topic things, that's a direct attack on the German state. For instance, Russia Today is one of the few networks reporting on the out of control migrant sexual attacks happening in Germany. Therefore, it's fake news!

Of course, Russia is going to exploit this angle. So they should, exposing the highly unpopular Merkel govt. Official German policy is incredibly anti-nationalist, globalist, and against the will (and safety) of the German majority. Russia is scoring major points simply by telling the truth. Excellent strategy the truth tends to be.

Sour grapes going megatard with the convenient Russian excuse

Russian hackers 'probably swayed Brexit vote', says Ben Bradshaw MP
http://news.sky.com/story/russian-hacke ... p-10694779

Russia owns all. They overthrew the British democracy no differently than Putin judo throwing one of his countless victims.

But his allegation was given short shrift by Prime Minister Theresa May's spokesman, who responded: "I have not come across any evidence that Russian cyber warfare was used to influence the referendum."

Wait, no proof?

"Not only their interference, now proven, in the American presidential campaign, probably in our own referendum last year."

Oh, the Russian hack on the US election was proven! I see, tell me more.

He added: "We don't have the evidence for that yet, but I think it's highly probable.

Well, despite having no evidence, I think "highly probable" sounds like a very fancy term that raises my cockles, or whatever the British do when they're hyped out.

"Certainly in the French presidential election, they will be involved, and there are already serious concerns in the German secret service that Russia is already interfering in the elections coming up.

"We've got to wake up to this."

Damn, not only will Russia control the German and British democratic processes, France is next up too!

Damn that Putin. Unstoppable hacker.

As you know, the "elite ruling class" always knows better than us proles. What better way to shut us up than to just declare all elections/votes hacked by Russia so they can just do what they want?

Agree totally.

And...

Obama vows action against Russia for hacks

http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/15/politics/ ... d=32447897

Not only are they using this to make Trump look like a stooge, the Powers really just love kicking at Putin's shins because his Syrian & Iranian allies have killed a lot of NATO-Saudi terrorists recently in Aleppo. They hate the fact that Putin is winning. And Trump might not pursue the wasteful anti-Assad project.

Oh Noes! Sen. Lindsey Graham: Russians hacked into my campaign account

https://twitter.com/CNN/status/809176622968385536

@CNN Russia ate my homework

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-1 ... gn-account

The poor guy. His spends his career advocating for ultra military violence and destruction and the illegal overturning of foreign governments. Then he claims someone got his government -- and that's bad -- and damn, they hacked his website. (I wish the gays would just turn on this closet-guy and expose his shady government activities, so he can just retire and go away, maybe in a jail cell somewhere.)

Putin owns all

Former British ambassador and top secret clearance holder, Craig Murray, says he absolutely knows the Clinton emails came from Washington, DC. He claims to know because he says they were handed to him.

Not a hack, but a leak from the inside.

True/False? Unknown. Whether he's lying or not, I still think there was no Russian hack and it was a leak from DC.

From Julian Assange, the main face of Wikileaks

November 03 2016:

https://www.rt.com/news/365164-assange- ... ks-russia/

In a John Pilger Special, to be exclusively broadcast by RT on Saturday courtesy of Dartmouth Films, whistleblower Julian Assange categorically denied that the troves of US Democratic Party and Clinton work and staff emails released this year have come from the Russian government.

“The Clinton camp has been able to project a neo-McCarthyist hysteria that Russia is responsible for everything. Hillary Clinton has stated multiple times, falsely, that 17 US intelligence agencies had assessed that Russia was the source of our publications. That’s false – we can say that the Russian government is not the source,” Assange told the veteran Australian broadcaster as part of a 25-minute John Pilger Special, courtesy of Dartmouth Films.

From Dec 15, 2016

Sean Hannity of FOX News interviews Julian Assange:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6R-D1fvMtbk

When Hannity asked him if the Russian government was the source of the hack, Assange said the following:

Julian Assange: “Our source is not the Russian government.”

Sean Hannity: “So in other words, let me be clear, Russia did not give you the Podesta documents or anything from the DNC?”

Julian Assange: “That’s correct.”

Sean Hannity: “Can you confirm whether or not you have information involving hacked info from the RNC?”

Julian Assange: “We received about 3 pages of information to do with the RNC and Trump, but it was already public somewhere else.”

Sean Hannity: “The CIA supposedly says that the Russians definitely tried to influence the U.S. election. What is your thoughts on that?”

Julian Assange: “I think it is very interesting ..the key quote for us is from James Clapper on the 17th of November. James Clapper is head of DNI (Director of National Intelligence)…who oversees all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies and so his statement is as far as Wikileaks connection is made to the House Intelligence Committee.”

James Clapper audio: “As far as the Wikileaks connection, the evidence there is not strong and we don’t have a good insight into the sequencing of the releases or when that data may have been provided. We don’t have as good insight into that.”

Kremlin Calls NBC Report Putin Directed Hack 'Laughable Nonsense'

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/kre ... se-n696416

NBC was nice enough to report that the Russians think their reporting is ridiculous

Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the AP the report was "laughable nonsense."

Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, accused "Western media" of being a "shill" and a "mouthpiece of various power groups."

NBC News reported Wednesday that the U.S. has information that Putin personally directed how material hacked by Russian intelligence agencies was used during the campaign.

"It's not the general public who's being manipulated," Zakharova said. "The general public nowadays can distinguish the truth. It's the mass media that is manipulating themselves."
