A thought experiment suggested by a reader at Ace of Spades:

Imagine, just for a moment, if a Tea Party group tried to seize control of a University, demanded the resignation of officials and professors, demanded that any opinion that opposed its ideology be treated as a Hate Crime, and demanded that the curriculum conform to Constitutionalist ideals.

Also, this student body VP is sick of people using that icky old First Amendment to say things she doesn't like.

"Safe Space" Students Silence Asian Woman For Saying "Black People Can Be Racist"

Oops, was some random person who experienced racism momentarily allowed to go off script? Get that Asian out there, the social justice warriors say.

A good analysis of the whole Yale silliness

The New Intolerance of Student Activism
A fight over Halloween costumes at Yale has devolved into an effort to censor dissenting views.

In my opinion, these 'children' should be put through 6 weeks of Marine Corps introductory training... at their mommy and daddy's expense. No safe spaces, no 'right not to be offended.' They might suddenly get an appreciation for the privileged and luxurious reality they currently inhabit at the Ivy league schools.

Campus Activists Weaponize ‘Safe Space’
A journalist at the University of Missouri is mobbed by a crowd insisting he is the aggressor.

The First Amendment is more important than the neurotic emotions of these twerps.

Mizzou protesters segregate by race; white students asked to leave ‘black-only healing space’

http://www.bizpacreview.com/2015/11/12/ ... ace-272998

Live by racism, die by the racism

Apparently this is the point of Identity Politics. It's a weapon to screw with everyone's heads, divide and conquer the gullible masses, and then watch them balkanize themselves into little bitchy, useless tribes. In the end, they are powerless and pathetic.

The Old Left was so much more clever and stronger. They could see through this crap pretty quickly. But I feel sorry for young people today. They think they are social justice warriors when really they're just puppets on a string, willing victims to the Liberal/progressive tunes. The elite running the planet must be laughing their asses off at how easy this is. They have innumerable schools and universities so dumbed down and politically correct that these kids are incapable of critical thought and real debate.

Folks in other countries, who are generally united in knowing they are oppressed and infiltrated, are much harder to divide and conquer. They'd bitch-slap these university babies, and educate them on real racism and conquest.

"Oh my gosh, Becky! Can you believe they're talking about dead people in Paris when there are MICROAGRESSIONS going on right here at home?!?!?"

Also, Amhurst students are protesting against, among other things, posters advocating free speech. Because these people are just insane.

As Ace pointed out, these recent protests are doing a great job of pointing out the schools where you should never send your kids.

As a counterpoint, though, I take some heart in this editorial from the Claremont student newspaper.

Of course, the screeching crowd will probably get the newspaper shut down next.

Forty percent of millennials think it would be fine for the government to "prevent" people from making public statements that might be offensive to minorities. I weep for the future of this country.

So THIS happened at UNC a couple weeks ago:

http://alumni.unc.edu/news/long-list-of ... ng-on-race

Look, I feel for anyone who feels disenfranchised or discriminated against, and I want to take steps not to ever do that to someone else if I can help it, but some of this is clearly not equality but faulty entitlement. The black student who called two white students who were talking and wouldn't be quiet because they were "expressing themselves" a "micro-aggression?" That's ridiculous. It's a little rude, sure, but it's not a case of systemic racism.
