This has nothing to do with Regan from The Exorcist.
Very misleading subject line.

You guys

I don't know why people go nuts for Reagan. True, he ran as a true conservative. Hell, people argue convincingly he was an actual conservative until 1981, trying to maintain his campaign rhetoric. But after that, he completely changed his tune. Jekyll and Hyde. A freakin actor...

Look at the stats on how his admin massively increased gov. His spending was nuts. His main policy group was a secretive cabal of the same kind of planners he's complaining about in this video.

He was, possibly against his will, paired up with the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld crowd from the start. These people are just trouble.

The whole point of Reagan's admin was to feed bubbles at home, implement supply-side economics (aka printing excess money), ignore the criminal S & L scam crisis, massively increase the defense budget, and prosecute secret cocaine- and opium-related wars abroad. Good times for many, but mostly financed by debts. Which you're still paying. And debts which the Bu.s.h.it.e.s and Obamoids kept ramping up.

And no, I don't think the Democrats are a good alternative. They suck badly.

The same old same old central bankers, corporatists, and military-industrialists camped out in Reagan's admin, like all the admins before and all the admins after. Not much free market or transparency or conservatism to be seen here.

But at least Regan could lay down a nice speech, even as he got caught lying so much near the end.

Rather than have a discussion about the ins and outs of what did or did not happen in his administration, I'll just say that in an age of so many that fall short in EVERY aspect, it is nice to hold up one who inspired so many throughout his career and did so in the right way, with the right ideals.

That is why we hold him up.

Plus 'cause he's dead, so he'd just fall over if nobody held him up.

Symbionic Generator Reagan wouldn't approve of that attitude.
