Well, that one's subbed, and we'll see how it does, but I'm already onto the next one. Started on the colors. Still need some work there (and the inks will likely get tightened up a bit before it's all said and done too):

Photobucket tends to render these really garish. I adjusted this one a bit, but it's still looks way too saturated in the greens and not enough so in the brown and very different than it does in my design program or on Facebook.

Anyway, as I said, I did redo the inks and colors completely. The lightning bolt is a placeholder for a better one I'll add in later.

I know this is getting a bit excessive (or OBsessive) but this is such a good idea I really want to do it justice. And a guy on the RIPT Artists group on Facebook kept challenging me to tighten up my inks, so here is v.3.0 as it stands in WIP form (with still-unfinished inks and no color):

The upshot is the inks really do look a lot more professional (obviously the dirt at the bottom is not finished), so I'm glad to re-do it. But I really am getting anxious to finish this one up and sub it (and the tones and colors are a whole other mountain left to scale)!

I hope the extra work will pay off with an acceptance. You've definitely put in the time on this one.

And finally...the final version, as subbed to Ript!

Good luck, sir! It's a worthy entry, and would also make a fine black light poster.

Well, once again, the colors came out a lot more garish here than in the actual design.

But thanks!

Here's a link to the same piece of art on my Facebook page for comparison:
