Sometimes I find one that I wonder if I even could have made up. This one is just...perplexing, to say the least. DC has been releasing more "mature" updates of classic Hanna-Barbera characters/concepts. The results have been mixed (although the Flintstones comic, written by the same guy who's writing the comic in the news story, seems pretty decent). But this one just boggles the mind: Snagglepuss as "a gay, Southern Gothic playwright?"

It guest-stars Augie Doggie (no word on Doggie Daddy) and apparently takes place during the days of the House Un-American Affairs Committee in the '50s (of whom Snagglepuss has apparently run afoul). The titular cat is closeted but it's kind of an open secret apparently.

I just don't even know. As weird as the whole concept is it might even end up being a good read. Comics tend to work like that sometimes. But I don't see myself picking it up.

And with that I exit! Stage left, even!

I've loved the main Rebirth titles, but the cartoon ones have been a real mixed bag. This sounds odd.
