So after his wonderful turn as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland, the MCU's own Spider-Man, is set to reprise his role in his first solo film, Spider-Man: Homecoming. It's filming now for a release next year, and Looper has a bunch of pics of Holland in his Spidey costume on set filming an action scene on and around a flatbed truck carrying some lengths of concrete sewer pipe. Check 'em out:

The film is set to feature RDJ returning as Tony Stark/Iron Man as well.

Spider-Man Looks Over His Shoulder is clearly going to be fantastic.

I'm still not a huge fan of the extra lines on the suit, but his performance in Civil War was fantastic, so I'm really looking forward to full-on Spidey action.

I'm not huge on the extra stuff, but I've gotten used to it to the point that it doesn't bother me.

What does impress me about the suit from these images is how "real world" it looks compared to the costumes from the previous movies. I could actually believe this exists in the world, and as cool as the Maguire Spidey or the second version of the Garfield Spidey looked, they still were never convincing as something a real person would wear or even be able to put on without a team of costumers. This one I could actually believe an athletic crimefighter trying to protect his identity could wear (and we've even gotten the added level of believability by it having been provided by the wealthy head of a tech firm rather than somehow produced by Pete himself).

I think it's going to be a great movie and very different from what we've seen from Spidey thus far. I too am really looking forward to it!

really not a fan of the extra lines, but Holland was amazing and I'm sure they wont look as bad in action, post-CGI. I hope they don't keep changing it to be more and more over the top. Keep it Romita!

I also hope we see significant fallout from Civil War tied into the Spidey movie. Not as a direct plot point, keep it spidey's movie, but with Tony in the story, the fall out from the end of civil war should certainly be featured in some way that's not AoS level fly over.

I've looked for it a bunch but to no avail. Marvel is clamping down hard.

The thing I find funny is that, honestly, Zendaya's co-star from Shake It Up!, Bella Thorne, is basically the living embodiment of MJ:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2254074/medi ... 4003837440
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2254074/medi ... m276148480
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2254074/medi ... 1814672128

Seriously, if someone were to post this picture and say, "Hey, she's the new Mary Jane from Spider-Man!," would you even consider they meant the girl on the left:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2254074/medi ... 3418009856

That being said, it doesn't really bother me. They announced Zendaya would be the romantic interest "Michelle" a while ago, and people already had pretty much figured out she was actually MJ. I'm kind of over complaining about diversity casting. It's a reality, and it will continue to happen. Ultimately, it's not that big a thing (even if not getting Bella as MJ is almost as big a missed opportunity as casting Emma Stone as Gwen INSTEAD of MJ).
