I'm sure we had a thread a while back, but I'm too lazy to find it.

Some set pics from Strange v. Mordo: Dawn of Dormammu:

And the good doctor now has a trailer:

Looks fine so far. I'm not super jazzed, but I've never been much of a Doctor Strange reader, so I don't really get that "so cool to see the comics realized" thing.

And I think we hear Benedict Cumberbatch doing an American accent in voiceover, which is weird. Or should I say... STRANGE?

I'm reserving judgment. I'm a big Strange fan from when I was kid in the 70s. I also think Cumberbatch is okay.

It could be a movie with a good script and good acting, or another special effects orgy with middle-aged actors looking awkward in their costumes, typical of the MCU stuff. Rarely do the two aspects meet in the middle. Last time they did, for me, was Winter Soldier.

I just re-watched Avengers 2. Lost my interest about half way in and didn't finish it. Without the truckloads of bucks for sfx, it didn't have much going for it.

I don't even mind if they change a lot of stuff from the old Dr Strange comics, because as much as I like the old comics, they're not terribly deep. Making it smarter and more believable would be preferable.

He probably got into it after signing a multi-flick contract. Cumberbatch will probably be sliding into the Avengers as other actors are finishing their multi contracts and planning to not come back.

I have to agree on Avengers 2; that was a big disappointment. I think, overall, that the MCU has produced good movies, but everybody whiffs sometimes.

Really wish they'd do a directors' cut of A2, since there was allegedly some important stuff that got cut for time/Disney decision.

Loved the Doc Strange trailer, super excited for the movie.

I read an article about how Joss Whedon blames himself and says he's not directing any more superhero stuff because it was so stressful.

oh man, this movie is looking really really good.

side note, the new Marvel Studios logo sucks. I don't like it at all.

I like the prismatic magic effects. The visual effects in general are really nice.

But I'm still not super excited. I've just never been a big Dr. Strange fan.
