Yeah, I saw that Forbes story the other day, and they hinted that everything was on the table if guys in the story room liked it and could pitch it well.

The guy they were interviewing even specifically name-checked Beast Wars. I don't know if that makes me excited or worried.

"They can turn into animals, so what if they're all disguised as humans, and then we can just have human actors for all the robots!"

Interesting...

Transformers Cinematic Universe writer’s room member Lindsey Beer has posted a tweet in which she indicates future films in the live-action franchise will give more attention to the characters of the Transformers themselves. She had the following to say:

“The Transformers will be treated as real characters. As a fan as well as a writer, I promise we’re delivering some awesomeness.”

Here's hoping. The highlight of Age of Extinction was definitely that the Autobot squad had actual personalities and interacted as characters. Now they just need to spend a lot less time focusing on boring humans. At least use interesting humans!

Michael Bay says he'll be back to direct Trans5mers:

Also, some vague references to a couple of things in the movie. A setting and a character design are briefly mentioned, but I can't imagine anybody would really consider them spoilers.

And he says this one is the last one he's directing...

Just like he said on the last two movies. I'm glad the interviewer pointed that out to him.

Pfft. If they were backing up giant dumptrucks full of money to my house, I'd keep directing them, too.

Heck, I'll direct TF 5 for a dumptruck full of money. Bring it over, guys. I'm about to head home anyway.

But it's not like he's not going to be producing them anyway. He's going to make a ton of money on them whether he's the guy behind the camera or not!

Which is precisely why they should hire me to direct.

Trans5mers has a female lead, and this time, they've gone for a bonafide child with 14-year-old actress Isabela Moner, who has apparently worked on some Nickelodeon stuff (kinda like the last female lead, Nicola Pelz). Here's hoping Bay will manage to NOT sexualize her and make awkward jokes about age of consent. I'm not holding my breath, though.

The character description sounds interesting, at least. Then again, a lot of these movies have good ideas here and there. I hope more of them come to the forefront this time. Again, I'm not holding my breath.

It's a pre-teaser teaser!

http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/05/16/firs ... ime-315584

A teaser for PRODUCTION BEGINNING. This may be a new height in hype. Anyway, I'm interested to see that the logo looks quite different, and I hope it heralds a new direction. Also, it's not numbered, but rather subtitled "The Last Knight". The 4th movie had some malarkey about Knights of Cybertron or something, and IIRC, the dinobots and Optimus Prime were all members of the group. Op, for sure.
