That was pretty cool. Not a band I'm familiar with, but they've got an interesting sound.

Good idea for a thread; I'll have to think of something to post.

How about some 80's awesomeness? 707 with the title track from Megaforce, a powerhouse of 80's cheese.

And something older and possibly more obscure; Roky Erickson - Night of the Vampire.

But since we're doing covers, I'll also add one of my all-time favorite covers, with bonus AMV:

The Pixies one was fun. Good live performance.

I really liked Castles Made of Sand. I've heard people talk about what a great storyteller Hendrix was, but I hadn't really encountered one of his songs that grabbed me in that way before. That one was captivating.

I am always impressed by guys who can do that really high speed shredding stuff like in the silent revelation video. And it's a cool song. It's got kind of an anime soundtrack feel to it. Not sure why it reminds me of that, but anime/AMV is where my mind went. I've probably watched too many "Through Fire and Flames" videos. Or maybe it's the guitarist's outfit.

I'll throw in a little modern Sacred Warrior too (80's style Christian "metal"...) Really talented guys:

liked the chocolate drops, a lot of talent there.

avett brothers are nice to listen to as well.

sacred warrior has a nice groove to it, like the guys voice.

here's a few more
Queen - The March of the Black Queen. probably my favorite queen song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEBi6nHCYx8

Polyphonic Spree - Lithium. a nirvana cover that seems more unhinged than the original given how upbeat it is.

just gonna have to click this one

I liked "If I Only Had a Brain." Clever song, and a cool video.

Happy Hour is fantastic. I wasn't sure about it at the beginning, but it comes together into a really nice sound. I'll definitely have to check out some more Tin Hat Trio.

Jason, I'm digging the Chocolate Drops. Good ol' country sound. :) The Avetts were also cool in a similar way.

Fitz was cool in a totally different way. Really catchy stuff. I can only assume that's the secret identity of TFitz.

Sacred Warrior was cool, too.

Here's my unconventional Christian music suggestion (for today, at least); Red:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH-k_6tU ... -eZp-j9iiS
(That's also a playlist, if you like 'em.) I've been listening to them on Pandora; I didn't realize they've got some pretty cool videos, too.

Franky, you can never go wrong with Queen. Cool to hear a less common song, though.

The bonus surprise song was definitely surprising. Been a LONG time since I heard that one.

I thought this song (one of the recommended links off that) was a pretty cool cover. Some of those Dwarves are pretty cute, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OiYDUEu3i8
