I mean, being by Puddles Pity Party always helps, too.

Woah, that's great. I'm checking the other vids now, thanks

That led me to "Postmodern Jukebox" - damn, Heli, you were already all over this several posts back. I missed it!

Really talented musicians. Thanks for me putting me in that direction.

I really enjoyed PMJ in the early days. A lot of their newer stuff isn't as appealing to me, but they still knock one out of the park now and then.

This is one of my favorites of theirs. I can't remember if it's one I've posted here or not:

Puddles doing Chandelier and Royals with PMJ are also fantastic. And most of the stuff with Morgan James is really good, too. It's definitely worth spending some time browsing their catalog.

My latest online music obsession is Steam Powered Giraffe. It's a group from San Diego with the backstory that they're actually clockwork automatons from the 1800s. They make it work pretty well.

This one is my oldest daughter's favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDRHx4cPgbE It's kind of the origin story song for them.

This one is currently my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdlXv_gdGqs

And I might as well throw in my wife's favorite, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojYK6CW8gdw

They're fairly eclectic. Some of their newer stuff leans more toward dance/techno, so I tend to prefer the older, accoustic-sounding stuff, but I enjoy them, and I think their makeup/pantomime skills are great.

I should also add, just because it's the internet, that one of the members of the group is transsexual. That's led to some interesting discussions with the kids.

But, fair warning, just don't read the youtube comments. I mean, that's always a good idea, but there's just so much baggage in the SPG ones. My focus is the music, which I enjoy, not the social issues.

On a totally different note, here's a really nice acapella rendition of "How Great Thou Art" from a group called Home Free.
